Agricultural professionals are encouraged to attend tor 46th Governor’s Conference on Agriculture, set for December 16-18, 2015 at Tan-Tar-A Resort in Osage Beach, Missouri.

The conference brings industry professionals together to share stories about Missouri agriculture through new ideas, discussions about industry challenges and promoting the state’s primary industry; which is responsible for around $10 billion in farm receipts.

“Gathering together as an industry each year to discuss current and upcoming opportunities and challenges is critical to the continued success of our industry,” said Director of Agriculture Richard Fordyce in a release. “The Governor’s Conference on Agriculture is a long-standing tradition for leaders among Missouri’s producers, agribusinesses and youth to collaboratively learn and share ideas that will enhance the future of Missouri agriculture.”

Speaker sessions include a presentation by Seven Revolutions, an organization that conducts research and analysis to anticipate changes in the future, looking at the importance agriculture will play in society between now and 2035.

In addition to guest speakers, the conference will feature a “State of the Industry” panel consisting of commodity leaders, discussing agriculture’s impact on the state, energy solutions as well as Attorney General Chris Koster giving updates related to agriculture-related court proceedings.

The event will also feature the awarding of the Missouri Agriculture Awards. The awards honor those who dedicate their time to improving, inspiring and practicing agriculture in the state.

Those interested in attending the conference must register. Anyone interested in the conference but can’t attend is encouraged to follow the proceedings on social media using the hashtag #MyFarmMyStory.
