Another Final Mile Grant

Oct 24, 2013

Clear Hills County residents will have greater access to high-speed internet as the result of a $240,600 Final Mile Rural Community Program grant. This project will include the construction of 10 new tower sites and the purchase of broadband network equipment to bring high speed internet service to the southern area of the county.

The province’s Final Mile Rural Community Program is investing more than $5 million in 23 projects that will expand high-speed internet service in locations across the province.

Municipalities, First Nations and Metis Settlements were eligible to apply for grants covering up to 75 per cent of Internet infrastructure, expenses such as towers, fibre optic cable, wireless equipment, installation costs, and radio license fees.
