Getting Into Farm Direct Marketing

Jan 24, 2014

Albertans interested in farm direct marketing are invited to attend an open forum being hosted by the Explore Local initiative. The forum will be of particular interest for those new to farm direct marketing and those who have questions about farm direct marketing.

The forum will feature Lisa and Troy Greenstein, Greenstein Farms. Experienced farm direct lamb producers and marketers, the Greensteins have created strong connections to Alberta’s local food scene. They work with local producers to raise the profile of Alberta lamb and have forged partnerships with chefs, farmers’ markets and retailers such as Save-On Foods.

A question and answer session with industry specialists rounds out the agenda. Attendees are encouraged to bring questions on regulations, business start-up, costs and returns, pricing, food safety and financing.

The forum is being held in Camrose on February 19, 2014. While no fee will be charged to participate in the forum, pre-registration is required as lunch is included. Registration deadline is February 11, 2014.
