Minister Ritz Announces Reappointment to the Canadian Wheat Board

Ottawa, Ontario - Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada

Agriculture Minister Gerry Ritz today announced the reappointment of Mr. David Carefoot as a Director of the Canadian Wheat Board (CWB).

"Mr. Carefoot has been an asset to the CWB, and I am confident he will continue to draw from his extensive financial background and experience in the agriculture industry to help oversee and guide their work," said Minister Ritz.

The CWB has a five member Board of Directors which is appointed by the Government of Canada. The four members and the President are appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister. The object of the corporation is to market grain for the benefit of producers who choose to deal with the Corporation.

Mr. Carefoot's reappointment is for a three-year term effective May 8, 2014. Biographical notes are included below.
