12th Annual Jackrabbit Dairy Camp

Overview

The twelfth annual Jackrabbit Dairy camp will be held June 4th-6th (Thursday through Saturday) on the South Dakota State University Campus in Brookings. The SDSU Dairy club is sponsoring this event for youth between the ages 8 - 18 who want to enhance their dairy cattle skills knowledge. Participants from all states are welcome to attend.

Highlights of the dairy camp include: Dairy workshops on fitting, showmanship, judging & reasons, dairy promotion, and dairy products; showmanship contest; mock heifer auction; dairy cattle judging contest; hands-on fitting; fun evening activities, including swimming and a movie night

  • Things to bring: Additional information will be provided in the registration confirmation letter, but will include items such as clipping and fitting supplies, normal clothes, toiletry items, towels, sleeping bag/sheets, etc.
  • Housing: All campers will be housed in one of SDSU's residence halls for two nights. Each room has two beds, and each camper will share a room with one other camper of the same gender. Registration will take place in this hall.

To register, complete the registration brochure below and return it by May 15th, 2015.

  • Fee: $60 per participant. Includes lodging for two evenings, meals, entertainment, and materials are included in this fee.
  • Registration is limited to 5 youth/counselor and is based on a first come, first serve basis.
