2012 Pork Industry Profile Available

The 2012 Ontario Pork Industry Profile is now available on the Ontario Pork website (www.ontariopork.on.ca). This profile provides an overview and statistics of Ontario’s hog industry, including the impact to the provincial economy in 2012.  In addition, information regarding market hog prices and details about the North American and export markets are included. 

Statistic worth noting: 1,600 pork producers in Ontario (compared to 1,700 in 2011) marketed 4.9 million hogs in 2012, approximately 1.5% more than 2011.
