AGCO teams with Proceedix to power assisted reality through Glass on its manufacturing floor

AGCO Corporation, a worldwide manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and solutions, today announced that it has teamed up with Proceedix®, a leading software as a service-based central platform, in a strategic alliance for a mobile and wearable smart operator platform. Utilizing wearable Glass technology and software developed in conjunction with Proceedix, AGCO will be better able to manage enterprise procedures, work instructions and inspections in an easy way, while making the remote execution paperless and mobile.

“We have been working closely with Proceedix since 2014 to implement informed reality technology in our operations,” said Peggy Gulick, AGCO business process improvement director. “Using a wearable device, such as Glass, assisted reality keeps users in their current environment but puts critical information directly in their line of sight.”

AGCO piloted the new assisted reality platform in its Jackson, Minnesota manufacturing site, where assembly of made-to-order wheeled tractors, articulated tractors and application equipment that can cost as much as $500K.

“We are pleased to work with AGCO in this strategic alliance to help them improve quality, safety and efficiency by using Glass in the assisted reality environment,” said Peter Verstraeten, CEO, Proceedix. “The future of manufacturing is being directed by these kinds of technological innovations, and our software is proudly playing a key role in putting AGCO on the leading edge.”

Proceedix software can help businesses change the way operators execute work instructions and procedures: anytime, anywhere, on Android or iOS phones and tablets, Windows PC, Glass or Iristick smart safety glasses.

Video: Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

#CortevaTalks brings you a short update with Cereal Herbicides Category Manager, Alister McRobbie, on how to get the most out of Broadway® Star.

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
