Alberta Cattle Industry Market Report

Alberta direct cattle sales Monday saw no new trade to report. This week's showlist has been compiled with volumes smaller than the previous week. Both the near-by live and feeder cattle contracts established new lows yesterday. Feeder cattle contracts are seeing modest gains this morning with the corn market under pressure however live cattle contracts are trading steady to lower.  
US Trade
 
In the US, there is no new trade to report. Nationally packer interest remains light with bids yet to be established. Business is not anticipated to develop until later on this week. Asking prices are poorly defined but are anticipated to start out in the mid to upper 120's on a live basis. Four state showlist volumes have been reported larger with the largest increase in fed supplies being noted in the South.
 
Canadian Dollar
 
The nearby Canadian dollar at 8:30 this morning was trading at 78.04, down 0.10
