A bipartisan group of Midwest Senators on Tuesday introduced legislation that would codify uniform standards for sustainable aviation fuel at the Federal Aviation Administration. The Sustainable Aviation Fuels Accuracy Act of 2023, introduced by Democrat Sen. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois, would require that SAF certified by the agency comes derived from biomass and holds a lifecycle greenhouse gas emission reduction rate of at least 50%.
