Canadian Pork Producers Heading To Japan Ahead Of CPTPP Signing

Canadian pork producers will take part in a trade mission to Japan next week.

The trip coincides with the signing of the Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership in Chile on March 8th.

“During this trade advocacy mission, delegates will be able to understand the new opportunities being created by the signature of the CPTPP and how to further develop the market. Pork producers will also witness the importance of on-farm programs for international customers and see how their product is marketed to buyers in Japan,” said Rick Bergmann, Chair of the Canadian Pork Council (CPC).

On Monday, March 5th delegates will meet in Kawasaki with Federal Agriculture Minister Lawrence MacAulay.
