Great Turnout for the 2016 Missouri Pork Classic

The Missouri Pork Association hosted the 16th annual Missouri Pork Classic on June 28 at Columbia’s L.A. Nickell Golf Course. This year’s tournament was a tremendous success, assembling a total of thirty-six teams comprised of area producers and industry representatives. Players enjoyed great food and endless fun on the course. Several prizes were awarded during the annual Rib Fest immediately following the tournament, including those listed below.

First, second, and third place were recognized with cash prizes in Flights A and B. Flight A results are as follows: first place went to Greg Reed, Keith Whitney, Rob Rush and Brent Marcks, sponsored by Raymond James, with a score of 49. Second place was awarded to the team of Mike Gray, Jeff Ragsdale, Brad Calison and Jared Barnes, sponsored by Tyson, with a score of 51. Third place went to Carrie North, Edna Speaker, Cindy Metts and Connie Welch, sponsored by Mt. Zion Homestead, with a score of 53.

Flight B results were: with a score of 63, first place was awarded to Jeff Sims, Glenn Fry, Steven Sims and Kenny Sims, sponsored by Ham Hill Farms. Second place in Flight B went to Noble Carpenter and Paul Brune of MFA, Dave Rastofer of Validus, and Mark Langworthy from the University of Missouri, sponsored by MFA, with a score of 63. In third place was Jeff Case and Bob Gerke of Rabo AgriFinance, Rob Christine of the National Pork Board, and Al Dierking, sponsored by Rabo AgriFinance and scoring 63. These three teams were ranked using a tie-breaker.

Additional cash prizes were awarded in various categories, including: Longest Putt – Bill Kent, Zoetis; Longest Drive – Jordan Epperson, Epperson Farms; and Closest to Hole – Arnold Bailey, Rose Hill Swine Production. Skins winners were teams from Tyson and Rabo AgriFinance.
