The Indiana Horticultural Society summer meeting will focus on all tree fruit, grape and berry crops through tours and demonstrations on June 23 at Purdue University's Meigs Horticultural Research Farm.
The meeting will start at 9 a.m.
Topics include sprayer calibration, determining the quality of spray water and exhibitor introductions in the morning.
Participants will have the opportunity to socialize during a social hour, lunch and dinner served at the farm, and during an optional wagon tour of the farm highlighting other studies. Research plots, precision agriculture applications, hops and paw paws are among some of the other areas of the farm that will be toured.
The Meigs Horticultural Research Farm is part of the Throckmorton Purdue Agricultural Center and is at 9492 S. 100 E, Lafayette.
Tours of the horticulture building including labs and greenhouse, the W.H. Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center, and the enology labs and vine library will take place June 24 for those who wish to stay. There also will be a general campus tour in the Boilermaker Special.
Registration is $10 per person for the meeting, $10 per person for lunch and $15 per person for dinner.
