Halifax, Nova Scotia – Agriculture and Agri-Food (AAFC)
The agriculture, agri-food and seafood industries will benefit from a new program to expand market share and foster economic growth.
The three-year Market Development and Investment Attraction program begins in the 2015-16 fiscal year with $450,000 available each year.
Quick facts
- The market development program will help agriculture, agri-food and seafood businesses to:
- access new markets;
- improve competitiveness;
- increase added-value and market driven initiatives, increase partnerships and collaboration between sectors; and
- improve capacity to attract and retain investment.
- Seafood businesses applying to the program will qualify for projects targeting international market opportunities.
- The new program is funded under Growing Forward 2, the five-year framework agreement for agriculture which is cost-shared 60-40 between the federal and provincial governments.
