Master Cattleman Program Starts Dec. 1

Purdue Extension is offering a 10-session program to help beef producers improve the profitability of their operations through effective farm management.

The Indiana Master Cattleman series begins Dec. 1 and meets Tuesdays through Feb. 2. Each session runs 6-9 p.m. at the Carroll County Extension office, 102 N. 4th Street, Flora.
 
Topics are business planning, marketing, forage, nutrition, herd health, reproduction, genetics and carcass quality.
 
Participants will have an opportunity to network with other beef producers and industry professionals.
 
Master Cattleman logoProducers who complete the program will become Beef Quality Assurance Certified and get access to the members-only Indiana Master Cattleman website.
 
Cost is $150 per person and $75 for additional members from the same farm. The registration fee includes copies of Purdue Extension’s Forage Field Guide and Cow-Calf Production in the U.S. Corn Belt, an Iowa State University-produced reference book.
