Cattle producers will be able to learn about backgrounding calves during a videoconference the North Dakota State University Extension Service is holding from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 14.
“Backgrounding is an alternative to selling calves at weaning,” says Karl Hoppe, area Extension livestock specialist at the NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center. “Learn more about the cattle-feeding issues of lower feed prices, cattle-feeding budgets, heifer development, market outlook and health concerns in this videoconference.”
The videoconference will be broadcast at the following locations:
- Carrington Research Extension Center
- Dickinson State University, Beck Auditorium
- NDSU North Central Research Extension Center near Minot
- NDSU Central Grasslands Research Extension Center near Streeter
- NDSU Extension county offices in Ashley, Lisbon and Linton
