New Label Approvals For Broadleaf Herbicides Will Benefit Western Canadian Process And Table Potato Growers

Western Canadian potato growers will benefit from new label changes for Dow AgroSciences high-performing broadleaf weed herbicides Paradigm™ and Pixxaro™. Fields previously treated with Paradigm or Pixxaro can now see the rotation of process and table potatoes a minimum of 10 months after using either of the herbicides.

“This is great news for process and table potato growers across the prairies,” says Mark Alberts, Dow AgroSciences, Product Manager. “The label changes are a solution for growers looking to clean up their rotational cereal fields with high-performing herbicides.”

Fields previously treated with Paradigm or Pixxaro can be seeded after a minimum of 10 months to a variety of crops. Which crops can be seeded depends on the herbicide, but both include: spring wheat, spring barley, canola, mustard, soybeans, oats and sunflowers.

Paradigm and Pixxaro contain Arylex Active technology, meaning there is 95 per cent or greater weed control of most labelled weeds. This enables farmers to apply Paradigm and Pixxaro to weeds which are large or small, in large or small crops – even in cool or dry conditions. Paradigm provides excellent control of common broadleaf weeds. Pixxaro will control many of the toughest broadleaf weeds including kochia.
