NFU Empowers Young Leaders at 85th All-States Leadership Retreat

In an inspiring display of unity and ambition, young leaders from the Farmers Union across the nation converged at the 85th National Farmers Union (NFU) All-States Leadership Retreat. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Montana Farmers Union's Arrowpeak Lodge in Highwood, MT, the event wwelcomed enthusiastic participants aged 18 to 22.

Throughout the gathering, these bright minds were treated to wisdom and insights from distinguished speakers, including Montana Farmers Union Membership Services and Government Affairs Director, as well as Montana Farmers Union members.

The retreat welcomed the presence of Walter Schweitzer, the esteemed President of Montana Farmers Union, who expressed profound admiration for the young Farmers Union leaders' intellect, charisma, and camaraderie.

The appointment of three outstanding people to the NFU National Youth Advisory Council (NYAC) for the 2023–24 term was one of the retreat's high points. The chosen representatives are Jackie Zaviska and Mariah Peterson from Minnesota, along with Tate Rafteseth from North Dakota.

These emerging leaders will have the opportunity to further hone their skills and make a difference on multiple platforms. They are slated to participate in NFU's Fall Legislative Fly-In in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., and will also showcase their insights at the esteemed NFU National Convention in 2024. Furthermore, they will play a pivotal role in orchestrating the 2024 All-States Retreat.

The NFU's commitment to nurturing the next generation of agricultural leaders shines brightly through events like the All-States Leadership Retreat. By fostering collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and a deep-rooted passion for farming, these young minds stand poised to shape the future of agriculture.
