Province Wants Feedback On Boyne-Morris Watershed Plan

The province is continuing to implement integrated watershed management plans for all areas of Manitoba.

The Boyne-Morris Watershed Plan is the 21st such initiative in the province.

The goal is to create an action plan for the next 10 years.

Cliff Greenfield is the manager for the Pembina Valley Conservation District.

He explains the role farmers will play in the process.

"Farmers are the main clients because water quality really depends on how the land is managed and that's who's managing the land, is the farmers," said Greenfield. "Healthy soils are another part of what's a healthy watershed. We rely on that for our food and farmers rely on healthy soils for their productivity and their business and so it's really important that everything can kind of work together for a win-win for everybody."
