Provincial Opposition Hears Farmers Concerns At Ag Days

Manitoba Ag Days is a great chance for politicians to network with farmers, and for farmers to network amongst themselves.

That from Midland MLA Blaine Pederson (also the PC's agriculture critic) who stopped in at the final day of the show along with PC Leader Brain Pallister.

Pederson says the show is the first big event of the year.

“Ag Days kind of kicks off the farm decisions for the coming year,” he said. "It's just a fantastic show."

He also adds that the show is a great chance for his party to hear Manitoban's concerns about how agriculture is being addressed by the government.

Pederson noted crop insurance and the government's recent food strategy were two of the issues that came up in discussions with farmers during his visit.
