Saskatchewan Cattle Prices Rise Significantly In Latest Weekly Summary

 
 
Cattle prices across Saskatchewan were up significantly during the past week.
 
Provincial livestock economist Brad Marceniuk says feeder cattle prices were up over 15 dollars per hundredweight during the past week.
 
Benchmark 500 to 600 pound feeder steers were up 19 dollars 73 cents per hundredweight, to average 247 dollars 63 cents.
 
Prices were pushed significantly higher on strong local demand and rising prices for market ready cattle.
 
Saskatchewan feeder cattle prices reached price levels last established in March 2016.
 
The price of D1, D2 slaughter cows rose 3 dollars per hundredweight to average 110 dollars 80 cents, while the price of D3 slaughter cows increased 4 dollars 21 cents to average 100 dollars 38 cents per hundredweight.
