The recent shift in the weather has slowed down Manitoba's grain corn harvest.
Pam de Rocquigny, general manager of the Manitoba Corn Growers Association, explained where things are sitting.
"We're getting closer to being done. There's some producers that have finished up and have been actually finished up for a few days already now and then we still have some producers that are still trying to get all the crop into the bin. I think weather has obviously been hampering that progress in terms of the snow and that kind of thing. Combines and snow don't mix very well, so I think some of them are just waiting for it to kind of freeze up a bit harder and get some of that snow off the cob."
