Swede Midge Survey Results

 
In late July, Alberta Agriculture staff surveyed 42 canola sites in central Alberta and detected very low density of swede midge larvae.

The swede midge survey will be repeated in the summer of 2017 with the goals of delineating the spread and measuring the level of damage from this new invasive pest of canola. The results of this year’s survey are shown on the swede midge survey map on Alberta Agriculture’s website.
