USDA Export Sales Report
 
Wheat:  Net sales of 375,500 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2017/2018 were down 30 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.   Increases were for South Korea (75,500 MT, including decreases of 2,500 MT), Nigeria (70,500 MT), Japan (69,500 MT, including 35,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), the Philippines (62,600 MT), and China (60,000 MT).  Reductions were reported for Indonesia (67,200 MT), unknown destinations (16,100 MT), and Thailand (10,700 MT).  Exports of 226,400 MT were down 68 percent from the previous week and 61 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (65,100 MT), Taiwan (48,400 MT), South Korea (33,000 MT), Mexico (23,000 MT), and Indonesia (20,300 MT).
 
Corn:  Net sales reductions for 2016/2017, which ended August 31, totaled 358,600 MT.  Increases were reported for Mexico (87,600 MT, including 30,000 MT switched from unknown destination and decreases 1,700 MT), Saudi Arabia (70,800 MT, including 65,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Colombia (48,400 MT, including 44,500 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 500 MT), Guatemala (6,100 MT, switched from unknown destinations), and Canada (3,400 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (214,600 MT), Taiwan (135,600 MT), South Korea (127,600 MT), and Japan (88,900 MT).  A total of 1,010,500 MT in sales were carried over from the 2016/2017 marketing year.  Net Sales of 1,480,000 MT were reported for 2017/2018.  Exports of 695,400 MT were down 29 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Accumulated exports in 2016/2017 totaled 55,394,800 MT, up 19 percent from the prior year’s total of 46,684,100 MT.   Exports were to Mexico (246,200 MT), Colombia (132,400 MT), Japan (103,400 MT), Saudi Arabia (70,800 MT), and Peru (35,200 MT).
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2016/2017, optional origin sales 54,000 MT, all unknown destinations. 
 
Barley:  No net sales were reported for the week.  Exports of 700 MT were reported to Japan (400 MT) and Taiwan (300 MT).
 
Sorghum:  Net sales for 2016/2017, which ended August 31, totaled 500 MT.  Increases were reported for China (700 MT).  Reductions were reported for Japan (200 MT).  A total of 342,300 MT, were carried over from the 2016/2017 marketing year.  Net Sales of 57,400 MT for 2017/2018 were reported for China.  Exports of 1,500 MT were down 99 percent from the previous week and 98 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Accumulated exports in 2016/2017 totaled 4,830,300 MT, down 38 percent from the prior year’s total of 7,817,300 MT.  Exports were to China (1,200 MT) and Mexico (300 MT).
 
Rice:  Net sales of 45,000 MT for 2017/2018 were reported for Haiti (22,300 MT), Honduras (10,400 MT), El Salvador (5,300 MT), Guatemala (2,400 MT), and Canada (2,400 MT).  Reductions were reported for Taiwan (100 MT).  For 2018/2019, net sales reductions of 1,100 MT were reported for Honduras (700 MT) and Guatemala (400 MT).  Exports of 10,000 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,000 MT), Jordan (2,500 MT), Canada (2,100 MT), Hong Kong (600 MT), and Taiwan (400 MT). 
 
Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account of 100 MT were reported for Canada.   The current outstanding balance of 300 MT is for Canada.
 
Soybeans:  Net sales reductions for 2016/2017, which ended August 31, totaled 366,400 MT.  Increases were reported for China (145,400 MT, including 255,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases 196,700 MT), Colombia (7,700 MT, including 7,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Indonesia (6,200 MT, including decreases of 1,200 MT), and Taiwan (5,000 MT, including decreases of 4,200 MT).  Reductions were reported for unknown destinations (452,600 MT), Japan (81,500 MT), and Egypt (1,600 MT).  A total of 2,359,000 MT were carried over from the 2016/2017 marketing year.  Net sales of 1,523,000 MT were reported for 2017/2018.  Exports of 716,700 MT were up 4 percent from the previous week and 7 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Accumulated exports in 2016/2017 totaled 58,117,700 MT, up 14 percent from the prior year’s total of 50,839,200 MT.  Exports were to China (403,100 MT), Japan (98,900 MT), Mexico (59,300 MT), Egypt (58,400), and Indonesia (19,100 MT). 
 
Optional Origin Sales:  New optional origin sales for 2017/2018 of 63,000 MT were reported for China.  Options were exercised to export 55,000 MT to China from the United States.  The current outstanding balance is 117,000 MT, all for China. 
 
Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 62,500 MT for 2016/2017 were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 1 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Canada (41,800 MT), Mexico (11,500 MT), Bangladesh (7,800 MT), unknown destinations (2,900 MT), and Honduras (2,200 MT, including 1,800 MT switched from Guatemala and decreases of 400 MT).  Reductions were reported for Venezuela (10,000 MT), Jamaica (5,100 MT), and Guatemala (1,500 MT).  For 2017/2018, net sales of 211,900 MT were reported primarily for the Philippines (88,700 MT), Guatemala (29,800 MT), Panama (27,000 MT), and Mexico (20,400 MT).  Exports of 134,500 MT were down 47 percent from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily Bangladesh (43,900 MT), Mexico (25,400 MT), Colombia (16,500 MT), Canada (12,600 MT), and El Salvador (6,600 MT).
 
Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 300 MT for 2016/2017 were down 93 percent from the previous week and 99 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported primarily for Canada (400 MT) and Mexico (400 MT).   Reductions were reported for the Dominican Republic (600 MT).  For 2017/2018, net sales of 600 MT were reported for the Dominican Republic.  Exports of 7,300 MT were down 53 percent from the previous week and 62 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily the Dominican Republic (5,000 MT), Mexico (1,000 MT), Trinidad (700 MT), and Canada (400 MT).
 
Cotton:  Net sales of 116,100 RB for 2017/2018 were reported for Vietnam (47,900 RB, including 900 RB switched from South Korea, 100 RB switched from Japan, and decreases of 600 MT), Mexico (13,300 RB), Bangladesh (12,000 RB), South Korea (6,700 RB), India (6,500 RB, including decreases of 100 RB), and China (5,400 RB, including decreases of 2,600 RB).  Reductions were reported for El Salvador (100 RB).  For 2018/2019, net sales of 43,100 RB were reported for Bangladesh (22,000 RB) and South Korea (21,100 RB).  Exports of 164,300 RB were primarily to Vietnam (40,200 RB), China (35,600 RB), Mexico (29,200 RB), Indonesia (18,600 RB), and Turkey (9,000 RB).   Net sales of Pima totaling 3,000 RB for 2017/2018 were reported for Vietnam (1,000 RB), India (800 RB), South Korea (800 RB), and China (400 RB).  Reductions were reported for Bangladesh (300 RB).  Exports of 3,500 RB were to India (2,500 RB), South Korea (400 RB), Japan (400 RB), and Portugal (100 RB).
 
Optional Origin Sales:  For 2017/2018, the current optional origin outstanding balance of 7,900 RB is for Indonesia.   
 
Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 11,400 RB were reported for Indonesia (7,400 RB) and Vietnam (4,000 RB).  Exports to Vietnam (12,000 RB), Indonesia (2,400 RB), and China (1,300 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current outstanding balance of 81,800 RB is for Indonesia (55,300 RB), Taiwan (13,100 RB), Vietnam (4,200 RB), India (3,800 RB), Bangladesh (2,800 RB), South Korea (2,100 RB), and Pakistan (500 RB).
 
Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 231,700 pieces reported for 2017 were down 51 percent from the previous week and 45 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales totaling 210,900 pieces were primarily for China (146,600 pieces), South Korea (22,500 pieces), Mexico (17,500 pieces), Thailand (12,800 pieces), and Taiwan (10,800 pieces).  Exports of 388,400 pieces reported for 2017 were up 5 percent from the previous week, but down 2 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hides exports of 388,400 pieces were primarily to China (250,800 pieces), South Korea (63,100 pieces), Taiwan (23,000 pieces), Thailand (18,000 pieces), and Mexico (17,400 pieces).
 
Net sales of 128,300 wet blues for 2017 were down 25 percent from the previous week and 34 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (72,100 unsplit), Italy (33,100 unsplit), China (17,800 unsplit and 100 grain splits), and Mexico (5,700 unsplit).   Reductions were reported for Thailand (200 unsplit) and Taiwan (100 unsplit).   Exports of 167,300 wet blues for 2017 were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (43,300 unsplit and 4,300 grain splits), Vietnam (45,800 unsplit and 1,700 grain splits), Italy (26,100 unsplit and 1,600 grain splits), and Thailand (10,800 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 100 pounds for 2017 resulted as increases for China (50,100 pounds) were partially offset by reductions for Taiwan (50,000 pounds).  Exports of 135,700 pounds for 2017 were down noticeably from the previous week and down 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were China (132,700 pounds) and South Korea (3,000 pounds).
 
Beef: Net sales of 5,900 MT reported for 2017 were down 77 percent from the previous week and 67 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (6,600 MT, including decreases of 2,200 MT), South Korea (4,500 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), Hong Kong (3,400 MT), Canada (800 MT), and Taiwan (800 MT).  Reductions of were reported for Egypt (9,200 MT), Brazil (700 MT), and Indonesia (600 MT).  Exports of 17,600 MT were down 18 percent from the previous week, but up 5 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (6,600 MT), South Korea (3,500 MT), Hong Kong (2,200 MT), Mexico (2,100 MT), and Canada (1,200 MT).
 
Pork:  Net sales of 25,700 MT reported for 2017 were down 1 percent from the previous week, but up 24 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (10,100 MT), South Korea (5,300 MT), Mexico (3,500 MT), Canada (2,200 MT), and Colombia (900 MT).    Exports of 19,300 MT were up 3 percent from the previous week and 8 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were primarily Mexico (8,500 MT), Japan (3,400 MT), Canada (1,600 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), and Hong Kong (1,500 MT).
