USDA Export sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 290,400 metric tons for delivery in marketing year 2015/2016 were up 5 percent from the previous week, but down 25 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Vietnam (52,500 MT, including 29,500 MT switched from unknown destinations, 14,500 MT switched from Indonesia, and decreases of 10,200 MT), Mexico (47,400 MT), Colombia (45,000 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 4,000 MT), Italy (41,700 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 1,000 MT), Japan (35,900 MT), and Brazil (30,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (83,100 MT), Israel (16,300 MT), and Indonesia (2,200 MT).  Net sales of 7,500 MT for 2016/2017 were reported for Panama.  Exports of 500,400 MT were down 6 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the prior-4 week average.  The primary destinations were Vietnam (74,700 MT), Guatemala (51,500 MT), Indonesia (48,200 MT), South Korea (44,900 MT), Colombia (44,000 MT), Italy (43,400 MT), and Malaysia (40,700 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 21,900 MT were reported to Italy.  Exports for own account to Italy (8,700 MT) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 60,200 MT, all Italy.

Corn:  Net sales for the 2015/2016 marketing year, which began September 1, totaled 411,200 MT.  Increases reported for Colombia (186,500 MT, including 35,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,600 MT), Mexico (71,900 MT), South Korea (60,800 MT), Japan (40,800 MT, switched from unknown destinations), the Dominican Republic (31,100 MT), and Venezuela (30,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (84,900 MT).  A total of 1,427,100 MT in sales were carried over from the 2014/2015 marketing year, which ended August 31.  Exports for the period ending August 31 of 640,900 MT brought accumulated exports to 45,845,500 MT, down 3 percent from the prior year’s total of 47,375,100 MT.  The primary destinations were Japan (193,400 MT), Colombia (113,400 MT), Mexico (105,900 MT), South Korea (63,800 MT), and Guatemala (34,900 MT).  Exports for September 1-3 totaled 267,400 MT, with Mexico (121,500 MT), Colombia (65,500 MT), Japan (40,800 MT), and Venezuela (30,000 MT) being the primary destinations. 

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, new optional origin sales totaling 58,000 MT were reported for unknown destinations.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 399,000 MT, all unknown destinations.

Barley:  Net sales reductions of 1,000 MT for 2015/2016 resulted as increases for South Korea (200 MT), were more than offset by decreases for Morocco (1,200 MT).  Exports of 13,900 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The destination was Morocco.

Sorghum: Net sales for the 2015/2016 marketing year, which began September 1, totaled 162,000 MT.  Increases were primarily reported for unknown destinations (100,000 MT), China (27,000 MT), Colombia (22,000 MT), and Mexico (13,000 MT).  Exports for September 1-3 totaled 400 MT, with Mexico being the destination.  A total of 227,700 MT in sales were carried over from the 2014/2015 marketing year, which ended August 31.  Exports for the period ending August 31 of 282,200 MT brought accumulated exports to 8,321,700 MT, up 77 percent from the prior year’s total of 4,700,800 MT.  The destinations were China (211,700 MT, including 59,000 MT late reporting) and Japan (70,500 MT). 

Rice:  Net sales of 93,400 MT for 2015/2016, up 41 percent from the previous week, were reported for Venezuela (30,000 MT), South Korea (25,600 MT), Mexico (15,600 MT), Japan (12,000 MT), and El Salvador (6,400 MT, including 3,000 MT switched from unknown destinations).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (7,300 MT).  Exports of 95,400 MT, down 39 percent from the previous week, were reported to Venezuela (30,000 MT), Panama (27,900 MT), Mexico (13,500 MT), Haiti (10,100 MT), and South Korea (4,400 MT).

Exports for Own Account:  The current export for own account balance is 400 MT, all Canada.

Soybeans:  Net sales for the 2015/2016 marketing year, which began September 1, totaled 1,790,200 MT.  Increases were reported for unknown destinations (994,400 MT), China (658,400 MT, including 49,600 MT late reporting), Mexico (38,800 MT), and Taiwan (23,300 MT).  Net sales of 1,000 MT for 2016/2017 were for Japan.  A total of 822,900 MT in sales were carried over from the 2014/2015 marketing year, which ended August 31.  Exports for the period ending August 31 of 187,500 MT brought accumulated exports to 49,801,300 MT, up 12 percent from the prior year’s total of 44,526,100 MT.  The primary destinations were Pakistan (66,000 MT), China (49,600 MT), Malaysia (24,900 MT), Mexico (23,600 MT), and Japan (11,700 MT).  Exports for September 1-3 totaled 21,100 MT, with Colombia (11,000 MT), Japan (3,200 MT), Indonesia (3,100 MT), and Vietnam (2,000 MT) being the primary destinations.   

Optional Origin Sales:  For 2015/2016, new optional origin sales totaling 120,000 MT were reported for China (carried over from 2014/2015).  Options were exercised to export 110,000 MT to China from the United States.  Outstanding optional origin sales total 285,000 MT, all China.

Exports for Own Account:  The current exports for own account balance is 1,900 MT, all Canada.

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 24,300 MT for 2014/2015 were up noticeably from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Guatemala (13,200 MT, including 10,000 MT switched from unknown destinations, 800 MT switched from El Salvador, and decreases of 500 MT), El Salvador (12,600 MT, including 13,900 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 600 MT), Mexico (10,100 MT), the Philippines (9,500 MT), and Canada (4,300 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (27,000 MT), Peru (8,400 MT), and the Dominican Republic (500 MT).  Net sales of 128,000 MT for 2015/2016 were reported primarily for Mexico (50,300 MT), Denmark (40,000 MT), Canada (11,100 MT), and Honduras (7,100 MT).  Exports of 144,900 MT were down 32 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (35,300 MT), the Philippines (28,200 MT), Colombia (21,800 MT), Guatemala (17,000 MT), El Salvador (14,500 MT), and Canada (9,600 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 6,600 MT for 2014/2015 were up 64 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Jamaica (3,500 MT), Mexico (3,100 MT), and the United Arab Emirates (100 MT).   Decreases of 200 MT were reported for Guatemala.  Exports of 15,300 MT were up 13 percent from the previous week, but down 22 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Guatemala (6,600 MT), the Dominican Republic (4,000 MT), Mexico (3,000 MT), and El Salvador (1,400 MT).

Cotton:   Net upland sales totaling 83,400 RB for 2015/2016 were up 26 percent from the previous week.  Increases were reported for Mexico (26,200 RB), South Korea (12,500 RB), Turkey (12,200 RB), Vietnam (10,000 RB), Indonesia (5,500 RB), and Thailand (4,800 RB, including 200 RB switched from Japan).   Decreases of 800 RB were reported for Japan.  Net sales of 18,900 RB for 2016/2017 were reported for Mexico (14,200 RB), Thailand (2,600 RB), and Nicaragua (2,100 RB).  Exports of 137,100 RB, down 10 percent from the previous week, were reported to Vietnam (45,500 RB), Turkey (23,400 RB), Mexico (22,600 RB), and Indonesia (9,300 RB).  Net sales of Pima totaling 6,700 RB for 2015/2016 were up 31 percent from the previous week.   Increases were reported for India (2,600 RB), Peru (2,000 RB), China (900 RB), and Vietnam (400 RB).  Exports of 7,200 RB, down 4 percent from the previous week, were reported to China (2,600 RB), Vietnam (1,800 RB), India (700 RB), and Pakistan (600 RB).  

Exports for Own Account:  New exports for own account totaling 32,300 RB were reported to Vietnam (30,700 RB) and China (1,600 RB).  Exports for own account to Vietnam (31,200 RB) were applied to new or outstanding sales.  The current exports for own account balance is 66,600 RB, and is for China (48,800 RB) and Vietnam (17,800 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 370,000 pieces for 2015 were up 40 percent from the previous week and 17 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 367,300 pieces were primarily for China (216,300 pieces), South Korea (98,600 pieces), Mexico (18,600 pieces), Japan (10,900 pieces), and Vietnam (9,000 pieces, including 3,800 pieces switched from Taiwan and decreases of 1,100 pieces).  Exports of 318,600 pieces, all whole cattle hides were down 42 percent from the previous week and 35 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (215,400 pieces), South Korea (66,700 pieces), Mexico (11,700 pieces), Italy (8,300 pieces), and Thailand (6,300 pieces).

Net sales of 57,000 wet blues for 2015 were down 71 percent from the previous week and 64 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (31,700 unsplit), Vietnam (14,600 unsplit), India (4,800 grain splits and 1,300 unsplit), and Thailand (4,800 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for China (2,800 grain splits), Japan (500 grain splits), and South Korea (300 grain splits).  Exports of 111,800 wet blues were down 29 percent from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (36,600 unsplit and 22,100 grain splits), Italy (9,200 unsplit and 7,200 grain splits), Mexico (10,700 grain splits and 1,800 unsplit), and Vietnam (12,000 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 524,300 pounds for 2015 were reported for China (455,600 pounds), Hong Kong (50,000 pounds), Taiwan (16,100 pounds), and South Korea (2,600 pounds).  For 2016, net sales of 7,000 pounds resulted as increases for China (13,500 pounds), were partially offset by decreases for Italy (6,500 pounds).  Exports of 574,400 pounds were down 24 percent from the previous week and 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were South Korea (383,400 pounds), Hong Kong (100,000 pounds), and Taiwan (91,100 pounds).

Beef:  Net sales of 10,500 MT for 2015 were down 20 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Hong Kong (3,700 MT), Japan (1,800 MT), South Korea (1,600 MT), Taiwan (1,200 MT), and Mexico (1,100 MT).  Exports of 9,300 MT were down 14 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (3,000 MT), Mexico (1,500 MT), Hong Kong (1,400 MT), South Korea (1,400 MT), and Canada (800 MT).

Pork:  Net sales of 10,900 MT for 2015 were down 59 percent from the previous week and 46 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (4,400 MT), Mexico (1,700 MT), Canada (1,700 MT), Japan (1,100 MT), and Chile (600 MT).  Exports of 14,300 MT were down 19 percent from the previous week and 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (6,200 MT), Japan (2,900 MT), Canada (1,600 MT), South Korea (900 MT), and Chile (700 MT).
