The Port of Vancouver is reporting a new record for bulk grain exports.
2016 is the third consecutive year of record volumes in bulk grain, and the fifth straight annual increase.
Last year, 21.8 million metric tonnes were shipped through the West Coast port, a rise of 1.3 percent.
Strong global demand combined with a higher than normal production year to boost export levels.
Canola exports rose 19 per-cent and special crop shipments were up 18 percent.
On the other hand, wheat was down 16.5 percent.
