VAS Announces Grain Bin Winner

As the Manitoba Stampede was not far from wrapping up on Sunday, July 24, the excitement was ramping up, as the Valley Agricultural Society in Morris drew the winning ticket in the raffle for a brand-new grain bin from Meridian Manufacturing.

The grain bin winner is Elmer Hildebrand, who also has the option to accept $12,000 cash instead of the grain bin itself. All proceeds from the bin raffle will go toward the cost of mandated electrical upgrades. The costs of these upgrades are estimated to be $150,000. The first phase of this work was completed in 2015 at a cost of $49,234. The balance of the upgrades will take place now that this year's show is complete.
