Viterra is expanding its operation with the purchase of a Canola and Soybean Crushing and Refining plant in Quebec.

Viterra's President and CEO Kyle Jeworski.

" We have just announced that we have aquired TRT-ETGO which is the largest crushing plant in eastern Canada. It is also the largest soying plant in all of Canada. And soying plant meaning that it's capable of crushing both canola and soybeans"

Jeworski adds that the new plant really compliments Viterra's current asset network.

"The canola that's being crushed is coming from western Canada. Its coming from Saskatchewan, its coming from Manitoba. The soybeans, there are soybeans that are originated from the facility in Quebec and Ontario but also as the soybeans continue to grow in western Canada again in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, its another outlet for farmers and for us to be able to market those products east. Crush them and then market that oil and meal within North America. "
