Bouts of humid sticky weather intermixed with short cool, dry episodes continue. No widespread rainfall in the near future.
After nearly a week without rain in the eastern half of the state, thunderstorms will return ahead of a cold front on Wednesday. Warm, humid air preceding the front will lead to some strong storms later Wednesday in central counties.
Once the front passes (early Thursday), a couple of seasonably cool, dry days are likely. The return flow of warm and increasingly humid air is expected to resume later Saturday with increasing clouds and a few thundershowers in the west.
The next front may not arrive until mid-week (July 29-30), so a couple of dull, sticky days with scattered storms are likely early next week. Rainfall will be somewhat random, but the best chance for heavy rain is in the eastern third of the Commonwealth. Temperatures will return to near or below seasonal levels during the second half of next week.
