Weekend weather proves interesting

Saskatchewan saw severe thunderstorm warnings and even a tornado watch over the weekend.

Saturday was a hot one with Environment Canada reporting 11 weather records were broken.  

Moose Jaw was the hottest at 35.9 C breaking it's record of 33.9 C which was set back in 1986.

A number of areas also receiving rain.  

For many producers the rain was a welcome sight, however, the wind and hail that came with it, was not.

There were reports of pea to toonie size in the Unity area, with egg and golf ball sized hail reported around Luseland. 

Sunday also saw a tornado watch issued in the southeast and eastern side of the province.

Farmers will be out this week evaluating crops for any damage.
