Achieving a More Profitable Operation

Achieving a More Profitable Operation

The Iowa Corn Growers Association (ICGA) and Iowa Corn Promotion Board (ICPB) will again join with local sponsoring groups to host 14 free crop fairs across Iowa this winter.

“Our crop fairs are an established tradition for many growers,” said Don Mason, ICGA/ICPB director of grower services.  “They make top experts available at local gatherings where farmers can ask questions and tap into the latest information on issues that affect their profitability.”

Mason especially thanked local sponsoring groups and businesses for making the crop fair program possible: “Over the years we’ve been able to deliver up-to-date information to thousands of Iowa producers through great sponsor support.”

Dates and locations for this year’s crop fair schedule include:
 Jan. 5 in Guthrie Center
 Jan. 6 in Cedar Rapids
 Jan. 8 in Humeston
 Jan. 9 in Burlingon
 Jan. 14 in Fayette
 Jan. 19 in Marshalltown
 Jan. 21 in Missouri Valley
 Jan. 22 in Bassett
 Feb. 5 in Elkader
 Feb. 13 in Wall Lake
 Feb. 18 in Fort Dodge
 March 3 in Fairfield
 March 12 in Shenandoah

A crop fair is also planned for Paullina at a date to be determined.

The ICPB, made up of 17 Iowa growers, directs the investment of corn checkoff funds to develop and defend markets, fund research, and provide education about corn and corn products.  The ICGA is a membership organization, lobbying on agricultural issues on behalf of its 6,000 members.
