USDA : Weekly Export Sales Report

Wheat:  Net sales of 101,100 metric tons for delivery in 2009/10 were down 69 percent from the previous week and 72 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Thailand (49,000 MT), Taiwan (34,600 MT), Nigeria (31,500 MT), Guatemala (28,400 MT, including 25,900 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Japan (26,200 MT).  Decreases were reported for Malaysia (45,000 MT), unknown destinations (43,000 MT), and Honduras (10,000 MT).  Net sales of 310,800 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for unknown destinations (138,500 MT), Sri Lanka (55,000 MT), and Japan (49,800 MT).  Decreases were reported for Singapore (55,000 MT).  Exports of 476,900 MT were up 6 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Venezuela (80,400 MT), Nigeria (65,200 MT), Mexico (60,900 MT), Canada (42,100 MT), Japan (41,200 MT), and Guatemala (27,700 MT).  

Corn:  Net sales of 1,006,300 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were down 26 percent from the previous week, but up 14 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Japan (420,800 MT, including 88,700 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 17,300 MT), Mexico (213,200 MT), South Korea (165,900 MT), Egypt (71,500 MT, including 65,500 MT late reporting)Venezuela (34,100 MT), and Taiwan (32,900 MT).  Decreases were reported for Guatemala (17,200 MT) and the French West Indies (4,000 MT).  Net sales of 140,900 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for Mexico (139,900 MT).  Exports of 1,113,100 MT were up 27 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Japan (343,100 MT), Mexico (288,000 MT), South Korea (171,600 MT), Egypt (97,300 MT), Taiwan (96,100 MT), and Costa Rica (30,300 MT).

Barley: Net sales of 300 MT were for Canada.  Exports of 1,400 MT were to Canada.

Sorghum:  Net sales of 46,400 MT were for Mexico (46,000 MT) and Japan (400 MT).    Exports of 66,400 MT were to Mexico (48,100 MT) and Japan (18,300 MT).

Rice:  Net sales of 52,300 MT were up 44 percent from the previous week, but down 10 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Haiti (9,300 MT), Mexico (9,200 MT), Canada (9,100 MT), Taiwan (6,000 MT), Ghana (4,200 MT), and Saudi Arabia (3,400 MT).  Exports of 91,400 MT were down 41 percent from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Venezuela (28,900 MT), Turkey (23,400 MT), Haiti (9,700 MT), Mexico (5,700 MT), Canada (3,600 MT), and Jamaica (3,600 MT).

Soybeans:  Net sales of 158,000 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were down 23 percent from the previous week and 28 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for China (66,200 MT), Japan (48,400 MT, including 18,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Mexico (40,600 MT), Costa Rica (10,600 MT, including 10,100 MT switched from Guatemala), and Canada (5,800 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (15,700 MT) and Guatemala (7,900 MT).  Net sales of 293,200 MT for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for China (288,500 MT).  Exports of 439,000 MT were unchanged from the previous week and down 45 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (176,100 MT), Mexico (103,400 MT), Japan (61,900 MT), Taiwan (19,700 MT), and Egypt (19,000 MT).  

Soybean Cake and Meal:  Net sales of 85,000 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were down 60 percent from the previous week and 40 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Mexico (37,800 MT), Poland (28,400 MT, including 25,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Ireland (18,100 MT), and Morocco (14,300 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Peru (14,400 MT), unknown destinations (12,500 MT), Colombia (6,000 MT), the Philippines (5,000 MT), and Guatemala (4,000 MT).  Net sales of 16,300 MT were for Mexico (8,200 MT), the Dominican Republic (8,000 MT), and Canada (100 MT).   Exports of 115,100 MT were down 57 percent from the previous week and 56 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Poland (28,400 MT), Mexico (21,600 MT), Canada (15,500 MT), Morocco (14,300 MT), Syria (9,900 MT), and the Philippines (5,600 MT). 

Soybean Oil:  Net sales of 13,500 MT resulted as increases for Morocco (11,800 MT, switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 200 MT), Mexico (10,100 MT), and Canada (3,500 MT), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (12,000 MT).  There were no sales reported for delivery in 2010/11.  Exports of 20,800 MT were down 58 percent from the previous week and 41 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Morocco (11,800 MT), Mexico (3,800 MT), and Canada (3,500 MT).  

Cotton:  Net Upland sales of 280,300 running bales for delivery in 2009/10 were up 49 percent from the previous week and 51 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Turkey (108,900 RB), Taiwan (26,700 RB), Bangladesh (26,600 RB), Mexico (21,100 RB), South Korea (20,600 RB), and China (17,500 RB).  Net sales of 49,100 RB for delivery in 2010/11 were mainly for Indonesia (17,600 RB), South Korea (12,700 RB), Thailand (9,500 RB), and Turkey (8,200 RB).  Exports for own account were reported for China (6,800 RB) and Turkey (4,500 RB).  Exports of 187,100 RB were down 40 percent from the previous week and 37 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (54,700 RB), Turkey (20,300 RB), Indonesia (19,400 RB), Mexico (16,700 RB), Vietnam (14,600 RB), and Taiwan (13,900 RB).  Net American Pima sales of 900 RB were up 10 percent from the previous week, but down 89 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for India (300 RB), Indonesia (300 RB), and Japan (300 RB).  There were no sales reported for delivery in 2010/11.  Exports of 10,200 RB were down 36 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Indonesia (2,900 RB), China (2,300 RB), Bangladesh (1,500 RB), and India (1,200 RB).

Hides and Skins:  Net sales of 519,200 pieces were reported for delivery in 2010, down 5 percent from the previous week, but up 15 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 512,800 pieces were mainly for China (236,000 pieces), South Korea (99,500 pieces), Taiwan (44,700 pieces), Thailand (35,000 pieces, including 1,900 pieces switched from Taiwan and decreases of 200 pieces) and Hong Kong (23,900 pieces). Exports of 409,700 pieces were down 14 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 405,700 pieces were primarily to China (157,100 pieces), South Korea (107,300 pieces), Taiwan (47,700 pieces), Vietnam (24,400 pieces), Thailand (22,000 pieces), and Mexico (17,400 pieces).

Net sales of 98,800 wet blues for delivery in 2010 were down 10 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary buyers were China (35,600 unsplit and 100 grain splits), Thailand (22,700 unsplit), Italy (21,000 unsplit), and Mexico (13,700 grain splits).  Decreases were reported for Mexico (2,000 unsplit).  Exports of 140,300 hides were primarily for China (68,000 unsplit), Mexico (20,400 grain splits), Italy (18,600 unsplit), and Hong Kong (7,800 unsplit).  Net sales reductions of splits totaling 2,400 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (90,700 pounds) were more than offset by decreases for China (72,200 pounds), South Korea (18,500 pounds), and Italy (2,400 pounds).  Exports of 390,200 pounds were for Italy (172,200 pounds), China (123,900 pounds), and Hong Kong (94,100 pounds).

Beef: Net sales of 6,700 MT were down 49 percent from the previous week and 44 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for Mexico (1,500 MT), Vietnam (1,400 MT), Japan (800 MT), Canada (800 MT), and Russia (600 MT).  Exports of 9,600 MT were primary for Mexico (2,700 MT), South Korea (1,400 MT), Japan (1,300 MT), Vietnam (1,200 MT), and Canada (1,100 MT).
