2018 Precision Agriculture Conference in Saskatoon will be bigger and better!

2018 Precision Agriculture Conference in Saskatoon will be bigger and better!

Focus of the Conference will be the practical and profitable adoption of new innovations.

The 2nd annual Farms.com Precision Agriculture Conference & Ag Technology Showcase will be held on November 13-14, 2018, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan! The 2018 conference will be held at the Radisson Saskatoon and will be extended to a one-and-half day program.

The introduction and use of agriculture innovations in Western Canada is very dynamic and growing quickly -- which means it can be a challenge to keep up with the latest products and developments.

The Farms.com Precision Agriculture Conference and Ag Technology Showcase is focused on all practical aspects of technology and innovation, not just data collection and management. The range of conference activities will stimulate interaction, sharing, learning and networking with leading innovation experts, specialists, agronomists, farmers and retailers.

The Conference attracts industry-leading presenters and has a wide range of practical learning sessions covering topics such as:

  • The latest innovations and agronomic practices in precision agriculture.
  • Advancements in software to help maximize farm management and accounting.
  • The latest in driverless and other autonomous equipment.

“We were pleased with the positive attendee feedback last fall so we are planning the 2018 Farms.com Precision Agriculture Conference to offer more expert speaker sessions and ensure each session can include more attendees,” says Farms.com Vice President Joe Dales. “Farms.com will be extending the conference from a one-day program to a one-and-a-half-day program to allow for more information sessions and has secured a larger conference hotel space.”

This extended format will provide farmers with more opportunities to network, and learn from experienced people in the industry and generate new precision ag ideas and concepts to adapt to their specific farm needs.

The 2018 Conference will once again feature a trade show and networking event which will highlight precision agriculture's leading agribusinesses from Canada and the United States.

This year's conference will again feature internationally renowned experts in their field.  While many of the speakers for the conference are in the process of being finalized, agri-businesses with suggestions for topics for workshops at the conference, may contact show organizers.

Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

Video: Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

#CortevaTalks brings you a short update with Cereal Herbicides Category Manager, Alister McRobbie, on how to get the most out of Broadway® Star.

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
