2024's BeSure! Helping the pollinators!

By Farms.com

As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, Growing Matters has relaunched its BeSure! campaign. This initiative is dedicated to instructing farmers and applicators on the conscientious use of neonicotinoids, aiming to mitigate risks to pollinators, crucial for biodiversity and agriculture alike.

The campaign, supported by industry leaders and organizations, serves as a reminder of the vital importance of following label instructions for pesticide products. This adherence not only supports pollinator health but also ensures the continued viability of agriculture by preventing crop loss due to pests and diseases.

With the threat of Citrus Greening highlighting the need for effective pest control, neonicotinoids offer a solution that, when used responsibly, does not endanger pollinators. The BeSure! initiative provides a wealth of resources for the agricultural community, from stewardship guides to educational videos, all designed to foster safe and effective pesticide use.

In the run-up to the 2024 planting season, the BeSure! campaign is stepping up efforts to spread its message across various platforms. Through collaboration and education, Growing Matters aims to empower the agricultural sector to embrace practices that ensure the health of the ecosystem and the sustainability of food production.

This year’s BeSure! campaign underscores the agriculture industry's role in environmental conservation, bridging the gap between the need for crop protection and the imperative to safeguard our planet's pollinators and wildlife.
