A farm tire manufacturer is offering customers extended product security.

Producers who purchase tires from Alliance Tire Group (ATG) will receive a 10-year warranty on the company’s steel-belted ag radials for tractors, combines, sprayers, grain carts and other ag equipment.

The company is also extending coverage on its other farm tires to seven years and adding a new 100 percent coverage for workmanship on materials claims for two years after the purchase.

James Crouch

The extended warranties reflect the expectations farmers have of their investments, said James Crouch, Alliance Tire Americas’s national product manager for agriculture.

“A 10-year warranty is pretty bold for a farm tire,” he told Farms.com. “We all know how much abuse farm tires take in the field and on the road. It’s our way of telling farmers that we manufacture our tires with the materials, processes and people that make them some of the most reliable tires in the world.”

Global trade issues and low commodity prices mean producers may not have the resources for large equipment investments.

And the uncertainty in some markets has challenged ATG to create better products, Crouch said.

“Farmers need to keep rolling and, in fact, it’s more important than ever that they operate efficiently and cost-effectively,” he said. “That’s actually really helped (us), because we’ve got hundreds of tires designed specifically to improve machinery performance, reduce fuel consumption, protect soil from compaction and improve farmers’ bottom lines.”

As with other purchases, farmers are encouraged to keep all receipts and invoices to ensure a smooth process should they require a claim.

ATG has also created an app for producers to help them make a claim.

“We’ve created the Warranty Wizard app, which really streamlines the process,” Crouch said. “Tire dealers and farmers just take a few photos with their smartphones, answer a few questions and upload it to us and we can process the claim very quickly.”

The app is available for Apple and Android devices.

Video: Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

#CortevaTalks brings you a short update with Cereal Herbicides Category Manager, Alister McRobbie, on how to get the most out of Broadway® Star.

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
