Beginning Friday, 24 of Europe’s best soccer nations will compete in the 2020 Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) European Championships, also known as the UEFA Euro Cup.

The tournament was originally scheduled to be played in June and July of last year but rescheduled because of the pandemic.

For those who may not be familiar, the tournament works as follows:

  • The teams are divided into six groups of four teams each.
  • Each group will compete in a round robin and the top two teams will advance to the knockout stage.
  • The four best third-place teams will also qualify for the knockout stage.
  • From there, each game is single elimination.

Soccer analysts have analyzed rosters and personnel trying to determine which country will hoist the Henri Delaunay trophy after the July 11 final.

Farms.com will try to predict the winner with ag-related information.

Using available data, Farms.com will determine the group and knockout stage winners with agriculture as a percentage of a country’s gross domestic product.

Today’s article will focus on Groups A, B and C.

All figures are from 2019 and in $USD unless otherwise noted.

Video: Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

#CortevaTalks brings you a short update with Cereal Herbicides Category Manager, Alister McRobbie, on how to get the most out of Broadway® Star.

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
