Innovative Precision Agriculture Conference, being held February 26 & 27^th

Only 10 Registrations Spots Remain for Farms.com Precision Agriculture Conference which is being held February 26 and 27^th, 2014. “If you haven’t already registered for the conference, today may be the last day that you are able to,” says Farms.com Executive Vice President Joe Dales. “Unfortunately, there is a maximum number of registrations that we can accept, and we have reached that number much earlier than we anticipated.”

“Clearly farmers are hungry for more information about Precision Agriculture and eager to explore the opportunities it presents,” continues Dales. More than 200 people will attend the Precision Agriculture Conference which is being held at the Best Western Lamplighter Inn and Conference Centre, in London, Ontario.

The Precision Agriculture Conference will lead off with a Presentation entitled “What is the Potential of Precision Agriculture?” which will include the following presentations:

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
