2023 dairy checkoff triumphs - Advancing sustainability and global presence

Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) has proudly announced its impressive accomplishments for 2023, focusing on strategic areas encapsulated in the acronym ASPIRE (Sustainability, People, Innovation, Reputation, Exports). These achievements reflect the collective effort of the U.S. dairy industry, from local to international scales.

Sustainability initiatives have been a cornerstone of DMI's efforts. Significant advancements include the Feed in Focus program, which has positively impacted numerous farms and cattle, and the Net Zero Initiative, which garnered substantial external funding. These programs underscore the industry's commitment to sustainable and economically viable practices.

Innovation played a pivotal role in 2023, with DMI fostering growth through partnerships with major foodservice brands. This resulted in the introduction of dairy-rich items in prominent fast-food chains, symbolizing the adaptability and appeal of dairy products. Research collaborations with renowned institutions like Mayo Clinic and Cornell University further propelled dairy research into new frontiers.

The Innovation Center for U.S. Dairy strengthened its engagement across the dairy value chain, with a significant increase in companies joining the U.S. Dairy Stewardship Commitment. This demonstrates the industry's unified approach towards sustainability and social responsibility.

DMI also made strides in enhancing the dairy industry's reputation. The "See Dairy Differently" campaign and collaborations with health authorities have effectively shifted public perception, highlighting the sector's focus on science-backed, sustainable production.
