Future Priorities For Wheat Research In Saskatchewan Outlined In New Report

 
A new report outlines the future priorities for wheat research in Saskatchewan.  It took 18 months of consultations to develop the document.
 
Cereals Canada president Cam Dahl says the priorities include higher yields, improved tolerance to weather extremes, and, better disease resistance:
 
“It’s important for rotation,” Dahl said. “We have to ensure it continues to be profitable for producers. And to do that, these are the key goals we need to accomplish.”
 
Canadian wheat exports are worth seven billion dollars a year.
