Product Spotlight: The John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill

No-till drilling has evolved over the course of the last 50 years, as the practice has been credited to a farmer from North Carolina in 1962. The John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill is a prime example of this evolution. No-till planting provides very effective erosion control and moisture conservation measures, and this John Deere equipment helps farmers place the plant seeds directly into the soil through the residue of a previous crop – all without plowing or disking.

1590 No-Till Drill

Here are some of the key features of the John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill that will get you excited to start working in the field.

No-Till Openers

The 1590 has no-till openers, which means that it will work in no-till conditions, as well as minimum or reduced-till conditions. Now, operators can work on uneven ground without any issues. Single-disk openers are gang mounted and hydraulically raised and lowered.

Seed Tubes

The John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill has a long, internally smooth seed tube with a molded elbow with adequate support. All of the tubes on the machine are composed of a non-corrosive nylon material, which extends the life of the products.

Large Seedboxes

Seedboxes on the John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill have large capacity, which means that they now have longer intervals in between stops for refilling. The plain grain or combination grain/fertilizer boxes are also designed to match the producer’s needs and crops.

Electronic Population Rate Control

Producers who are concerned with seed costs will want to take note of the machine’s electronic population rate (EPRC) control feature. EPRC allows operators to adjust the population rate from the convenience of the tractor cab out in the field.

Simple User Interface

The John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill has a simple user interface, which allows for easy manual steering. Operators also have the option of using the path accuracy indicator at the top of the guidance view screen to steer the machine.

Seed Level Indicator

The seed level indicator on this piece of equipment is easy-to-read for the convenience of machine operators. A bin level indicator is used on plain grain boxes, and it’s visible from the tractor seat.

Row Markers

The John Deere 1590 No-Till Drill comes with row markers, which can help when it comes time to lay out seeding patterns. Hydraulic cylinders allow the markers to raise and lower easily.

Video: Is China Buying US Soybeans + USDA Nov 14th Crop Report could be “Game Changing”

After a week of a U.S./China trade truce, markets/trade is skeptical that we have not seen a signed agreement nor heard much from China or seen any details. There are rumors that China is buying soybean futures & not the physical. Trust in Trump?
12 MMT of U.S. soybean purchases by China by year-end is better than 0 but we all need to give it more time and give it a chance to unfold. China did lower the tariffs on Ag and is buying U.S. wheat and sorghum.
U.S. supreme court could rule against Trumps tariffs, but the Trump administration does have a plan B.
U.S. government shutdown is now the longest in history at 38 days.
But despite a U.S. government shutdown we will be getting a USDA November crop report next Friday and it could be “game changing.” If the USDA provides a bullish surprise with lower U.S. corn and soybean yields and ending stocks that are lower than expected both corn and soybean futures will break out above their ceilings at $4.35/bu and $11.35/bu respectively.
The funds continued their selling in live and feeder cattle futures on continued fears that the Trump administration want to lower U.S. beef prices. The fundamentals have not changed, only market psychology has.
Stocks markets continue to worry about a weak U.S. job market, but you can blame ChatGPT for that. In the future, we will have a more efficient, productive and growing economy with a higher unemployment rate until we have more skilled AI workers.
After 34 new record highs in the S & P 500 and 124 new records in the NASDAQ in 2025 we are back to a correction and investor profit taking as AI valuations may have gotten too stretched near-term ahead of NVDA’s 3rd quarter earnings announcement on Nov. 19th. But this is not an AI bubble.
