U.S. Agriculture Official: Compromise Will Be Difficult On New Mexican GMO Corn Policy

Mexico’s new policy on GMO corn is drawing further criticism from U.S. officials.

Earlier this month, Mexico published new rules that prohibited GMO corn for human consumption, but softened the position of a previous policy regarding the use of such corn for animal food and industrial food production.

In response, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack said he was disappointed in the rules.
