Yorkdale Central School Receives Grant From DuPont Pioneer

DuPont Pioneer is pleased to announce that as part of its Full Belly! Full Mind! initiative that supports nutrition and breakfast programs across Canada, $1,900 has been donated to Yorkdale Central School.

The grant will be specifically used to fund a new breakfast program. The Yorkdale Breakfast Program will provide a nutritious breakfast at the beginning of every school day to 20 students requiring assistance. Rob and Tracey Bletsky, Pioneer Hi-Bred sales representatives, endorsed the grant.

"Hunger is a real issue for a number of students in the community and affects their ability to learn," says Delaine Mandziak, DuPont Pioneer account manager. "The new breakfast program is a great initiative that will enable students to perform at their best in class."

"This donation will make a big difference in the lives and well-being of the group of children needing extra support, and will ensure their nutritional needs are met," says Shaune Beatty, principal, Yorkdale Central School. "We thank DuPont Pioneer for their generosity."

Video: Spring weed control in winter wheat with Broadway® Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam)

#CortevaTalks brings you a short update with Cereal Herbicides Category Manager, Alister McRobbie, on how to get the most out of Broadway® Star.

Significant populations of grassweeds, including ryegrass and brome, can threaten winter wheat yields. Spring applications of a contact graminicide, such as Broadway Star from Corteva Agriscience, can clear problem weeds, allowing crops to grow away in the spring.

Broadway Star (pyroxsulam + florasulam) controls ryegrass, sterile brome, wild oats and a range of broad-leaved weeds such as cleavers. It can be applied to winter wheat up until GS32, but the earlier the application is made, the smaller the weed, and the greater the benefit to the crop. Weeds should be actively growing. A good rule of thumb is that if your grass needs cutting, conditions are right to apply Broadway Star.
