USDA Weekly Sales Export Report

Wheat:  
Net sales of 264,200 metric tons were up 24 percent from the previous week, but down 20 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Japan (96,000 MT), Egypt (69,600 MT, including 60,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Indonesia (63,700 MT, including 58,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), Nigeria (35,700 MT), Venezuela (30,500 MT), South Korea (23,000 MT), and Haiti (18,300 MT, including 18,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), were partially offset by decreases for unknown destinations (152,500 MT), Guatemala (10,300 MT), and Nicaragua (3,000 MT).  Net sales of 124,000 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were for the Philippines (59,500 MT), unknown destinations (58,000 MT), and Nicaragua (6,500 MT).  Exports of 592,900 MT were up 90 percent from the previous week and 81 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Egypt (138,600 MT), Indonesia (62,200 MT), Mexico (57,100 MT), Nigeria (57,000 MT), Yemen (56,700 MT), and Japan (51,000 MT).  

Corn: 
Net sales of 1,191,300 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and 72 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for South Korea (481,000 MT, including 43,700 MT switched from unknown destinations), Japan (162,800 MT), unknown destinations (149,500 MT), Taiwan (142,300 MT), Venezuela (104,600 MT), and Mexico (49,300 MT).  Net sales of 101,500 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were for unknown destinations (58,000 MT) and Mexico (43,500 MT).  Exports of 776,400 MT were down 17 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were South Korea (270,400 MT), Japan (138,600 MT), Mexico (128,000 MT), Taiwan (81,700 MT), Ecuador (30,300 MT), Cuba (25,800 MT), Egypt (20,600 MT), and Guatemala (19,700 MT).  

Barley:  
Net sales of 10,000 MT were for Canada.  Exports of 2,100 MT were for Canada (1,900 MT) and Mexico (200 MT).    

Sorghum: 
Net sales of 900 MT were for Mexico.  Exports of 39,800 MT were for Mexico.   

Rice:  
Net sales of 207,400 MT--a marketing-year high--were up noticeably from the previous week and the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Iraq (120,000 MT), Costa Rica (19,200 MT), Mexico (16,300 MT), Nigeria (15,000 MT), and New Guinea (10,000 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Japan (4,000 MT) and Ghana (1,300 MT).  Exports of 45,300 MT were down 48 percent from the previous week and 43 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Haiti (17,400 MT), Japan (5,900 MT), Ghana (5,600 MT), Canada (2,700 MT), and Mexico (1,800MT).  

Soybeans:  
Net sales of 428,800 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases were reported for China (251,300 MT), Mexico (100,900 MT), the Netherlands (65,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), Egypt (45,000 MT), and Indonesia (35,000 MT).  Decreases were reported for unknown destinations (131,700 MT).  Net sales of 111,500 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were for China (110,000 MT) and Japan (1,500 MT).  Exports of 494,200 MT were down 21 percent from the previous week and 38 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (182,300 MT), Mexico (65,700 MT), Taiwan (65,500 MT), the Netherlands (65,000 MT), Israel (45,900 MT), Egypt (26,400 MT), and Indonesia (13,700 MT).

Soybean Cake and Meal:  
Net sales of 140,800 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and 27 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Venezuela (68,800 MT), Mexico (34,100 MT), Egypt (32,000 MT), Japan (21,600 MT), Morocco (10,500 MT, including 10,000 MT switched from unknown destinations), and Canada (10,200 MT), were partially offset by decreases for Turkey (24,000 MT), Ecuador (10,000 MT), unknown destinations (7,000 MT), Guatemala (4,700 MT), and Malaysia (1,000 MT).  Exports of 205,600 MT were up 20 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (47,500 MT), the Philippines (37,000 MT), Venezuela (24,000 MT), Canada (20,700 MT), Ireland (20,600 MT), Morocco (10,500 MT), and Japan (10,300 MT).

Soybean Oil:  
Net sales of 48,600 MT--a marketing-year high--were primarily for China (31,000 MT, switched from unknown destinations), unknown destinations (7,800 MT), and Mexico (5,600 MT).  Net sales of 1,200 MT for delivery in 2009/10 were for Mexico.  Exports of 10,600 MT were up noticeably from the previous week and 21 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Venezuela (5,000 MT), Mexico (2,700 MT), and Jordan (2,000 MT). 

Cotton:  
Net Upland sales of 321,300 running bales were up 57 percent from the previous week, but down 3 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Increases reported for Turkey (58,400 RB), China (53,300 RB), Pakistan (47,100 RB), Mexico (28,100 RB), Vietnam (23,300 RB), Colombia (21,000 RB), Taiwan (17,600 RB), and Indonesia (16,900 RB), were partially offset by decreases for Thailand (2,700 RB) and El Salvador (400 RB).  Net sales of 28,000 RB for delivery in 2009/10 were mainly for Thailand (14,100 RB), Mexico (6,800 RB), and Indonesia (5,600 RB).  Exports of 205,700 RB were up 24 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were China (42,500 RB), Vietnam (21,500 RB), Turkey (19,500 RB), Pakistan (19,100 RB), Mexico (15,600 RB), and Indonesia (15,600 RB).  Net American Pima Sales of 4,200 RB were mainly for India (1,300 RB), Egypt (1,300 RB), South Korea (500 RB), and Thailand (500 RB, switched from Japan).  Net sales of 100 RB for delivery in 2009/10 were for Japan.  Exports of 3,600 RB were mainly to Malaysia (1,300 RB), Egypt (1,300 RB), and Thailand (500 RB).

Hides and Skins:  
Net sales of 873,100 pieces were up 2 percent from the previous week and 70 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide sales of 873,400 pieces--a marketing year high--were primarily for China (533,100 pieces), South Korea (167,000 pieces), Taiwan (64,800 pieces), Thailand (35,800 pieces), and Mexico (22,400 pieces).  Exports of 566,600 pieces were up 13 percent from the previous week and 19 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Whole cattle hide exports of 559,100 pieces were primarily to China (326,200 pieces), South Korea (109,600 pieces), Taiwan (49,900 pieces), Vietnam (18,200 pieces), Japan (16,000 pieces), and Mexico (12,900 pieces).

Net sales of 146,100 wet blues were up noticeably from the previous week and 89 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (66,400 unsplit and 21,300 grain splits), Mexico (24,800 grain splits and 200 unsplit), Italy (17,600 unsplit), and Thailand (13,400 unsplit).  Decreases were reported for the Dominican Republic (4,000 grain splits).  Exports of 76,900 hides were down 24 percent from the previous week and 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The primary destinations were Mexico (20,300 grain splits and 5,200 unsplit), China (19,200 unsplit and 5,600 grain splits), Italy (11,500 unsplit), and Hong Kong (6,000 unsplit).  Net sales of splits totaling 183,400 pounds resulted as increases for Hong Kong (200,000 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Mexico (11,700 pounds) and China (4,900 pounds).  Exports of 411,400 pounds were down 13 percent from the previous week, but up 4 percent from the prior 4-week average.  The destinations were Hong Kong (150,000 pounds), South Korea (90,000 pounds), Mexico (88,300 pounds), and China (83,100 pounds).

Beef:  
Net sales of 7,000 MT were primarily for Mexico (3,600 MT), Canada (1,500 MT), and Taiwan (700 MT).  Exports of 7,800 MT were mainly to Mexico (3,000 MT), Vietnam (1,600 MT), and Canada (1,200 MT).
