Did the drought affect your crop production?
Report this Message
The U.S. drought and - more recently - Hurricane Sandy, have obviously impacted the ag industry.
According to a new report, "Agricultural output is on track to increase 7.5 percent".
With the US drought affecting all of us, how have your crops held up? Did your crop production increase in 2012?

Drought certainly lowered our yields this year, but not as badly as we anticipated.
We don't really have any longer term issues.
I guess the higher grain prices have been a positive aspect.
The plan for this year is to continue our rotations and try to increase yields.

Do you think the insurance Harvest Price Option will come into play at all and if so, is it really a good thing or is it a "too good to be true" type deal where you're asking "What's the catch"?
