10 Weird Studies Involving Agriculture

Turkey Love

Turkey

In the 1960s, Martin Schein and Edgar Hale of Penn State University studied male turkeys to determine when a male would eventually lose interest in a female.

The pair conducted a series of experiments, including creating a model turkey and removing parts individually.

After removing the tail, feet and wings, the male would still approach the model female and present itself. When the male turkey was presented with only a model head on a stick, it still showed interest.
