5 Governments Supporting Farmers During the COVID-19 Outbreak

The Canadian government is spending CAD$75 billion (US$53 billion) to help its economy and citizens weather the storm that is COVID-19.

As part of the support package, Canada announced a CAD$5-billion (US$3.5-billion) increase in lending capacity for farmers through Farm Credit Canada.

In addition, farmers with Advance Payments Program loans due on or before April 30 have an additional six months to pay them back.

Figures from the morning of March 26, 2020 show Canada with 3,409 cases of COVID-19 and 36 deaths.
