Brandon Wheat Kings

The Brandon Wheat Kings have been part of the Western Hockey League since the 1967-68 season.

The team was created as a successor to the Brandon Wheat Cities, who lost to the Ottawa Senators in the 1904 Stanley Cup Challenge.

The Wheat Kings have won the WHL Championship three times – 1979, 1996 and 2016.

Ron Chipperfield, who was with the Wheat Kings from 1970 to 2974 before spending some time in the NHL, is the team’s all-time leading goal scorer with 261.
