This statue of a pig in Red Deer, Alta. has quite the story.
In the summer of 1990, a pig – which locals eventually named Francis – escaped a local abattoir. The pig was hardly seen until a local fisherman and hunter found Francis on Nov. 28 that year.
Anyone wanting to visit the statue can do so at the Blue Grass Sod Farms Spray Park near the Red Deer Museum and Art Gallery.
