State Fair

This play is based on Phil Strong’s 1932 novel of the same name. The show first opened on Broadway in 1996.

The Frake family from Iowa makes plans to attend the State Fair in 1946. Abel, the patriarch of the family, hopes his boar will win a prize and his wife Melissa enters her mincemeat into a competition.
