Six U.S. states (West Virginia, Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky and Arkansas) and Australia have communities named Turkey. And one entire country in Asia is named Turkey.
Turkey, Texas is home to the first Phillips 66 service station in the state. It opened on July 27, 1928 on the corner of 5th Street and Main. In January 2019, the service station was recognized as a state landmark.
