Stein to Steer AFA's Strategic Vision for Alberta Agriculture

The Alberta Federation of Agriculture (AFA) is proud to announce Aaron Stein as its new Executive Director. With an extensive background in agriculture and business management, Stein is poised to lead the federation towards new heights in advocacy and strategic development.

Stein's career spans significant roles that have prepared him for this pivotal position. He is the founder of Alberta's first private Commercial Composting Facility, showcasing his commitment to sustainable agricultural practices.

His experience in marketing, particularly in Marketing Specialties, has honed his skills in promoting agricultural interests effectively.

His tenure at Invitrogen Corporation involved managing biotech products designed specifically for agricultural applications, further demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of the industry's technical aspects.

Stein's first major task will be to spearhead the creation of a five-year strategic plan for the AFA.

This plan will focus on addressing critical issues that impact Alberta's farmers, including tariff threats, climate change challenges, water security, and farm business sustainability.

It will also cover labor shortages and succession planning, ensuring the longevity and resilience of Alberta's agriculture sector.

The strategic plan under Stein's leadership will aim to strengthen the AFA's role as a key player in provincial and national agricultural advocacy.

By aligning with the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, the AFA will amplify its voice and influence, advocating effectively for the interests and needs of Alberta's agricultural producers.

The Alberta Federation of Agriculture looks forward to a dynamic and proactive approach in representing and supporting the province's agricultural community.
